North Thailand and Laos Tour

Different to our offroad tour, we spend our time on good roads riding through fascinating mountains, unspoilt countryside, we meet friendly people in mountain villages and enjoy the best Asian cuisine.

Day 1 Arrive Chiang Mai
We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to our downtown hotel to relax after your long flight do a little sightseeing or shopping the choice is yours. This evening we will have our welcome dinner in one of the local riverside restaurants and visit the famous Night Bazaar

Day 2 Chiang Mai – Chiang Kong
After breakfast we collect our motorcycles and head northbound towards Chiang Rai, on the way we will pay a visit to some hot springs where you can actually cook eggs, and visit the white temple built by a famous Thai artist. Today we will be in the Golden Triangle, famous for its former opium production We follow the Mekong river for 50 km downstream to Chiang Khong, the gateway to Indochina and border town for Laos On arrival in Chang Kong we head for our hotel, from here you can explore the town and maybe visit the market.THAI-NT1

Day 3 Chiang Kong  - Luang Namtha (Laos)
We complete the border formalities on the Thai side before crossing the Mekong into Laos. We spend the rest of the day on a newly built road which leads us through the mountains of northern Laos, passing several villages to Luang Namtha, a small town near the Chinese border.  From a temple located on a hill you have a fantastic view just before sunset

Day 4 Luang Namtha - Nong Kiev
We follow a small paved road for the next 230km through countless villages, and across the mountains of northern our overnight stop at a small resort on the shores of the north Nam Ou River.

Day 5 Nong Kiev – Luang Prabang
The ride today takes us through amazing valleys towards Luang Prabang, we arrive early afternoon and check into our comfortable guesthouse located on the banks of the river Kan. After dinner why not pay a visit to the night market.

Day 6 Luang Prabang
The old town of Luang Prabang has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1995.  We will have a half day tour to one of the most beautiful waterfalls we have ever seen, back in Luang Prabang there is much to see including the temple Wat Phousi or you can just relax in a café. This is a good opportunity to get any laundry or dry cleaning done. This evening we will enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants on the Mekong riverbankTHAI - North 2

Day 7 Luang Prabang – Vang Vieng
Heading south we leave Luang Prabang for the most tourist-oriented town in Laos in Vientiane Province about four hours bus ride north of the capital. The town lies on the Nam Song river. The most notable feature of the area is the karst hill landscape surrounding the town.

Day 8 Vang Vieng - Xayaboury
As the Mekong river flows through the mountainous province of Xayaboury in Norther Laos, it becomes the spawning grounds of migratory fish species that feed millions of people along the entire length of the river. Along the riverbanks villagers grow fruits and vegetables and pan for gold.

Day 9 Xayaboury-Pua
Today we ride out of Laos and crtoss the border back into Thailand and head for our overnight stop in Pua.

Day 10 Pau - Phayao
Another great days riding in Northern Thailand.

Day 11 Phayao – Chiang Mai
Our final day and heading for Chiang Mai where you should have time for a little shopping or visiting a spa or just chill by the pool before our farewell dinner this evening.

Day 12  Departure Chiang Mai
We will transfer back to the airport in time for you flight home.
