Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrive Montreal. On arrival at Montreal Airport, take the shuttle to our tour hotel. Montreal is known as the city of 100 steeples, also known as the Northern New Orleans. Take in the old port, the Notre Dame Basilica, St Joseph’s Oratory, the underground galleries, the Biodome, the Plateau Mont-Royal and of course the Grand Prix ‘circuit’.

CAN - GQO2DAY 2 Montreal – Quebec (250 km). After breakfast we collect you from your hotel to pick up the motorcycle. Once the formalities are out of the way, you’re off on a gentle ride to Quebec City. Here you can explore French Canada’s capital city, a fortress with vestiges of ‘Nouvelle France’ and a World Heritage Site.

DAY 3 Quebec – Tadoussac (220 km). You leave behind cosmopolitan Quebec and exchange it for the great outdoors. Follow the St Lawrence Seaway eastwards to the UNESCO protected Charlevoix region, with its rich natural treasures and cultural heritage. And it’s a great biking road too! Tadoussac is a famous whale-watching area, so make sure you allow time this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

CAN - GQO3DAY 4 Tadoussac – Matane (200 km). Today’s ride takes you across the mighty St Lawrence seaway by ferry to the northern shores of the Gaspe Peninsula, with several imposing lighthouses. You will then cross the Matane Wildlife Reserve, and with luck your first moose. And try the shrimp, considered by many the most delectable on the planet.

DAY 5 Matane – Perce (370 km). Today’s ride is one of the possibly the best on the tour, as you explore this beautiful unspoilt region. First off are the luxuriant flora and fauna of the Chic Chocs Wildlife Reserve. Then it’s Forillon Park and on to Gaspe Bay – Canada’s birthplace, ‘discovered’ in 1534 by Jacques Cartier – and finally legendary Perce Rock. .

DAY 6 Perce – New Richmond (165.km). Allow time for a cruise to Bonaventure Island today. Then carry on round the peninsula to the seaside town of New Richmond.

DAY 7 New Richmond – Riviere du Loup (380 km). We leave the coast and head across country today to complete our circuit of the Gaspé Peninsula, and return to the familiar St Lawrence Seaway.

DAY 8 Riviere du Loup – Montreal (430 km). Today’s ride takes you back along the St Lawrence Seaway, through Quebec to Montreal. You can opt for the major roads if you want to arrive early and spend time exploring the city. Alternatively, there is a quiet backroad route that meanders along the south bank communities of the St Lawrence.

DAY 9 Montreal – Kingston (290 km). After breakfast you collected from your hotel to pick up the motorcycle. Once the formalities are out of the way, you’re off! As you ride with the St Lawrence seaway you’ll see hundreds of small islands – very picturesque. Kingston is a town of great historical and architectural interest, so make sure you take time to stroll along the lively waterfront district with it’s beautiful houses and old stone buildings.

DAY 10 Kingston – Toronto (330 km). Toronto is Canada’s financial metropolis, known as the ‘Queen City’. It has lots to offer, with great shopping, amazing museums, the CN Tower, and plenty of sporting events.

DAY 11 Toronto - Niagara Falls (130 km). Not much riding today, but plenty of time to explore cosmopolitan Toronto and see Niagara Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in Earth. And if you want to get wet, why not take a tour on the ‘Maid of the Mist’, and see Niagara from very close up?

DAY 12 Niagara Falls – Huntsville (275 km). Leaving urban Toronto behind, you ride through a true jewel of natural beauty, Algonquin National Park, 7700 sq. km of lakes and forests. If time allows, take a short hike or cycle ride in this wonderful landscape.

DAY 13 Huntsville – Ottawa (350 km). A long but fairly gentle ride through northern Ontario’s landscape of forests and lakes brings you back to the capital. Take time to explore Canada’s capital city, with sights such as the Rideau Canal, the War Museum, the Museum of Civilizations, the Byward market and the parliament tower.

DAY 14 Ottawa – Mont Tremblant (250 km). Today’s ride takes us up into the Laurentians, with great scenery all the way. This is a favourite place for Canada’s city dwellers to get away from it all in search of nature and leisure. Mont Tremblant Parkhas 400 lakes, 6 rivers and countless waterfalls.

DAY 15 Mont Tremblant – Montreal (200 km). A lovely ‘downhill’ ride this morning back to Montreal in time for lunch. After you’ve returned your bike, we’ll take you back to our downtown hotel. Alternatively, if you wish to ride around Montreal, we will schedule your motorcycle return for tomorrow morning.

DAY 16 Depart Montreal. Take the airport shuttle for your flight home.
